Venue Access Information

  • There are seven wheelchair spaces available in the Front Stalls in our West Area, this has external access at the West Entrance and allows level access to the auditorium and the foyer. There is currently no lift access to other levels of the theatre.

Front Stalls 0-F Rows are on a slight gradient and are therefore accessible to customers with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. There is level access from the Foyer, into the auditorium at left-hand side of the stalls along the West corridor. Members of staff are positioned at the foyer lift, and the West Entrance to offer further assistance if required.

The building features wide corridors and doors, and additional toilet facilities for disabled people.

The main doors provide level access to the Box Office, and incorporate a lift for access to the Foyer and facilities including Foyer Bar, Kiosk and Merchandise Stand (not applicable for all shows) Our front doors to the main entrance are automatic.

There are four parking spaces for Blue Badge Holders directly opposite the West Entrance doors of the Theatre. Other disabled parking spaces can be found on the street in front of our main entrance and in the Council run car parks to the side and rear of the venue (3 hour limit on non-specific bays ion these areas). Please display your orange / blue badge clearly in your vehicle.

  • Southport Theatre & Convention Centre is equipped with an Sennheiser infrared sound amplification system. To access the infrared system please request receiving equipment from the Kiosk, this is situated in the Main Foyer. There are two types of devices available:

    Induction Loop Necklace
Suitable for persons wearing a hearing aid, the induction loop necklace is worn around the neck. Whilst wearing the necklace, switch your hearing aid to the “T” setting and the sound is amplified. The necklace has an adjustable volume control.

    Headset
This device amplifies sound through ear-pieces similar to regular headphones and is suitable for persons without a hearing aid.

You will be asked for a £5 deposit on collection. This will be fully refunded on return of equipment at the end of the performance.

    Typetalk
This is the national telephone relay service which enables deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired people to communicate with hearing people over the telephone network. This service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all the year round and is run by the Royal National Institute for the Deaf and British Telecom. It is a free service and simply costs the price that the call would cost to our Box Office.

To use this service, prefix our Access booking number 01704 500036 with 18001 if you are a textphone user. You will then be connected as usual but with a third party who is able to text back to you and/or speak to a member of the Box Office team on your behalf.
